I'M NEW!
Hello,

My name is Pastor Rob Stroup and this is my wife Suellen. I am so glad that you decided to check our church out! We would love to meet you in person, and if you would like to connect with us first, feel free to reach out to us at any time.
So you have some background about us, I was called to serve Rock Lake Baptist Church in January, 2018. My wife, Suellen, and I have four children. They share our passion to minister to God’s people by encouraging each person to take the next step in their spiritual journey. Their experience includes ministry to all ages, from toddlers to Senior Saints. I previously served as an assistant pastor in Lilburn, Georgia for 18 years, and also served as a youth pastor in Athens, Georgia. Together, our family has gone on several mission trips and we love to spend time with God’s people. Suellen loves to serve in music, children, and ladies’ ministries. My family's desire is to edify the body of Christ through preaching and teaching God's Word, and to work alongside other believers to give the gospel message in this community and around the world.
We hope to see you very soon! When you decide to come, we will strive to make your time here a pleasant one. We feel that much of what you will experience at RLBC will be refreshing, friendly, and exciting for your entire family. See you soon and God bless!

FAQ's

Where do I enter?
First time visitors are encouraged to enter the main entrance of the building where we can greet you in the lobby. Please help yourself to coffee in the lobby on Sunday morning, beginning at 9 am.

Which Sunday School do I attend?
We are happy to direct you to the appropriate class or main worship service. RLBC has several age-appropriate Sunday school classes for you and your entire family, starting at 9:15 am Sunday morning.

Where do I park?
We have more than enough parking for all those attending here in any service.

What do I wear?
We desire that you feel comfortable and welcome when visiting RLBC. You will find that our Pastoral Staff and ministry leaders dress in a more traditional “Sunday” attire. However, this is not expected of our guests.

Am I expected to give?
We do not expect any of our guests to give financially when attending the services. In fact, we desire that the services be our gift to you! Offerings are an opportunity for our regular attenders to give to the Lord as part of our worship service.

What do you have for children?
We have age appropriate Sunday School starting at 9:15am. During the main service on Sunday morning, children through 2nd grade attend our children’s church. On Wednesday night we have the Awana Bible Club with age appropriate classes starting at 5 years old through 12th grade.

Do you have a nursery?
We provide a safe, clean and well staffed nursery for ages three and under for all services. Parents will be asked to provide a cell phone number and leave their phone on vibrate so that the nursery staff can contact you if needed. We make it a high priority to keep our nursery a safe place for your child each time you visit!

What denomination are you a part of?
RLBC is not part of any denomination, but is an Independent Baptist Church.
What kind of music do you have?
The music here follows a traditional style and is uplifting and God-honoring. A typical service includes vocal and instrumental music along with congregational singing as part of our corporate worship.

What is your style of preaching?
"My goal in each message is to help us learn what the Word of God says, what it means, and how it should affect our daily living. In many sermons we expositionally work through a book of the Bible, but sometimes we address a topic and carefully consider different passages that apply. It is always our aim to 'rightly divide the Word of Truth' (II Timothy 2:15). Often we will have illustrations or object lessons to help us comprehend the truths of Scripture, and while it is sometimes entertaining, the purpose is instruction." – Pastor Rob Stroup.
